The Old Cat
An old woman had a cat. The cat was very old; she could not run quickly, and she could not bite, because she was so old. One day the old cat saw a mouse; she jumped and caught the mouse. But she could not bite it; so the mouse got out of her mouth and ran away, because the cat could not bite it.
Then the old woman became very angry because the cat had not killed the mouse. She began to hit the cat. The cat said, "Do not hit your old servant. I have worked for you for many years, and I would work for you still, but I am too old. Do not be unkind to the old, but remember what good work the old did when they were young."

A Butterfly’s Lesson
One day, a small opening appeared on a cocoon;
a man sat and watched for the butterfly for several hours
as it struggled to force its body through that little hole.
Then, it seems to stop making any progress.
It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could
and it could not go any further.
So the man decided to help the butterfly: he took a pair of scissors
and opened the cocoon.
The butterfly then emerged easily.
But it had a withered body, it was tiny and shrivelled wings.
The man continued to watch because he expected that, at any moment,
the wings would open, enlarge and expand,
to be able to support the butterfly’s body, and become firm.
Neither happened!
In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a withered body and shrivelled wings.
It never was able to fly.
What the man, in his kindness and his goodwill did not understand was that
the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the tiny opening,
were God’s way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings, s
o that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon.
Sometimes, struggles are exactly what we need in our life.
If God allowed us to go through our life without any obstacles,
it would cripple us.
We would not be as strong as we could have been.
Never been able to fly.
I asked for Strength...
And God gave me difficulties to make me strong.
I asked for Wisdom...
And God gave me Problems to solve.
I asked for prosperity...
And God gave me a Brain and Brawn to work.
I asked for Courage…..
And God gave me obstacles to overcome.
I asked for Love...
And God gave me Troubled people to help.
I asked for Favors...
And God gave me Opportunities.
“I received nothing I wanted...
But I received everything I needed."
Live life without fear, confront all obstacles and evince that you can overcome them.
Some times, struggles are exactly what we need in our life。

A man was going to the house of some rich person. As he went along the road, he saw a box of good apples at the side of the road. He said, "I do not want to eat those apples; for the rich man will give me much food; he will give me very nice food to eat." Then he took the apples and threw them away into the st.
He went on and came to a river. The river had become very big; so he could not go over it. He waited for some time; then he said, "I cannot go to the rich man's house today, for I cannot get over the river."
He began to go home. He had eaten no food that day. He began to want food. He came to the apples, and he was glad to take them out of the st and eat them.
Do not throw good things away; you may be glad to have them at some other time.

After many years the Country mouse saw the City mouse; he said, "Do come and see me at my house in the country." So the City mouse went. The City mouse said, "This food is not good, and your house is not good. Why do you live in a hole in the field? You should come and live in the city. You would live in a nice house made of stone. You would have nice food to eat. You must come and see me at my house in the city."

He soon felt terrible pain in his throat, and ran up and down groaning and groaning and seeking for something to relieve the pain. He tried to ince every one he met to remove the bone. “I would give anything,” said he, “if you would take it out.” At last the Crane agreed to try, and told the Wolf to lie on his side and open his jaws as wide as he could. 8.
The Fox and the Grapes
One hot summer's day a Fox was strolling through an orchard till he came to a bunch of Grapes just ripening on a vine which had been trained over a lofty branch. "Just the thing to quench my thirst," quoth he. Drawing back a few paces, he took a run and a jump, and just missed the bunch. Turning round again with a One, Two, Three, he jumped up, but with no greater success. Again and again he tried after the tempting morsel, but at last had to give it up, and walked away with his nose in the air, saying: "I am sure they are sour."
(One hot summer's day a Fox was strolling through an orchard),看到一串熟透的葡萄沿著藤蔓高挂在上 (till he came to a bunch of Grapes just ripening on a vine which had been trained over a lofty branch.)。 他这麼说著 ("Just the thing to quench my thirst," quoth he)。 (Drawing back a few paces, he took a run and a jump),可惜没构到那串葡萄 (and just missed the bunch),往后再退了几步,一、二、三,往上一跳 (Turning round again with a One, Two, Three, he jumped up),还是没有构到那串葡萄 (but with no greater success.)。 (Again and again he tried after the tempting morsel),可最后还是放弃了(but at last had to give it up),最后离开,鼻子嗅了嗅说 (and walked away with his nose in the air, saying):「葡萄太酸了 ("I am sure they are sour.")。」
The moral is that:It is easy to despise what you cannot get.
